COVID-19 Vaccination Program

Vaccine Hesitancy Research Results

Vaccine Hesitancy EngageMB Survey Results

One million vaccinations have now been administered in Manitoba. This represents about two-thirds of eligible Manitobans who have received at least one dose of vaccine. That is a significant accomplishment and we thank the many Manitobans who have done their part and already rolled up their sleeve to take part in this historic immunization campaign.

The vaccine is one tool we can use to help reduce the risk of COVID-19. If we all get immunized, we can protect ourselves, protect our families and protect Manitoba.

A Million Thanks

It’s an incredible milestone in the fight against COVID-19: Manitoba has given 1 million doses of vaccine. We could not have done it without the support of our vaccine clinic staff, the Vaccine Implementation Task Force and the hundreds of thousands of Manitobans who rolled up their sleeves to help #ProtectMB

Tell us your #1MThanksMB story - Is there someone who helped encourage you to get vaccinated? An experience at the clinic you want to celebrate? Another reason to say "Thank you!" for vaccines and the Manitoba vaccination program? Share it here, and we'll share it with Manitobans.

Thank you for sharing your #1MThanksMB #ProtectMB story with us.

  • Making history

by Nellie C, about 3 years ago

Before Covid began, I was doing a lot of extra curricular activities such as swimming, soccer, and a few more. Because of Covid, I missed out on a lot of opportunities, that included school sports, Band, and the Manitoba Summer Games, which i was going to swim in. I also missed hanging with my friends and family. Like most schools, we went into remote learning and I honestly never want that to happen again, in October we had to move into the High School, where our class was split in half. No more than a week later, we were back... Continue reading

  • Vaccine Saves Lives

by MBDG, about 3 years ago

Felt like I have graduated when I got my doses. Graduated from the fear of the possibility of dying.

I’m happy that everyone here in Manitoba is coming together to reach our ultimate goal - limiting the spread and eventually saving the most people getting into severe cases.

Salute to all health care workers risking their lives in saving lives.

  • thrilled that i could be vaccinated

we live in a country that we have access to a great health system and thankful for this vaccine to save mine and other lives.

the experience at the RBC center was so incredible. Very well organized, friendly and patient staff with everyone and cleanliness was high priority.

    Manitoba rocks.

  • It was a no brainer for me…

I have never had the flu and had never taken the flu shots over the years but this was a no brainer for me. People were very sick and dying so I rolled up my sleeve x 2. Never felt either jab and no side effects. I did my part to help protect the people I love and want to keep in my life. This is not just the flu so hope more people will get it done……. It’s worth it.
  • Needle-phobe did okay

by ColleenAnn, over 3 years ago
I am not fond of needles and was worried about how much it was going to hurt. Seeing all the different people on TV getting “jabbed” doesn’t help needle-phobes!

I was really pleased with the staff at the RBC Supercentre and barely felt the first shot snd didn’t feel the second one at all!

Considering how many shots the staff does, they were still conscientious about being as gentle as possible. To anyone still hesitant about the needle…trust me you will barely feel anything and likely won’t feel it at all.

  • Very Hesitant at first….

by Ljane, over 3 years ago
When the vaccine first came out I was one to say NO WAY am i getting that vaccine. I didn’t do well with flu shot so I didn’t want to chance it. The more time went on and speaking with Doctors and the information that was rolling out I decided i needed to get it. For myself and for others.

I was terrified going to RBC. I sat there extremely emotional. I was glad I was wearing a mask to hide my fear. With tears in my eyes I sat and waited for my jab. The process was quick, organized... Continue reading

Getting vaccinated was an easy process and it has given me the freedom to visit family safely! For all those hesitant please speak to your health care provider who can give you reassurance about the safety of the vaccines. Those vaccinated start to get their lives back to the new normal! I thankfully have had 2 doses. Then I had to go into emergency which led to a 5 day stay. This was wasn’t related to Covid. But I saw heard about their personal stories. Their families. Most of these healthcare workers were younge. Some with children that they went home to every night praying they wouldn’t give this terrible virus to them. I too have a son who is all grown up now but I know how would feel about the risk of giving my child Covid and how I would have to live with that all my days. So... Continue reading

I am pregnant (still early) and it hasn't been the easiest. I hate needles but I was pretty excited for my first dose but with my second I was scared and I knew I was pregnant and had been dealing with complications. The nurses who did my shot were wonderfully comforting and answered all my questions. I am so so grateful that my baby and I are as protected as we can be. I cannot wait until my daughter can be vaccinated and my family and I can be safe. Thank you to everyone that has worked so hard to... Continue reading
