Getting vaccinated to get back to living

I got my vaccine, not just to protect myself, but to keep my family safe. My household has been in full lockdown since October 2020, and being fully vaccinated means getting to go for groceries instead of just doing curbside pickup. It means getting to see my friends again, getting to finally jump into the role of bridesmaid for my best friends wedding. It means getting to safely see and be with the guy I reconnected with after spending 14 years apart; we went to high school together and hadn't spoken since grade 12 grad.

Getting the vaccine means peace of mind, it means safety where there once was none, and it means being one step closer to a normal future. Grateful doesn't even begin to explain how I feel right now.
