Power Engineers Regulation

The proposed amendments to the Power Engineers Regulation (Regulation) will introduce a new tiered certification system for refrigeration plant operators. These changes will allow Fifth Class Certificate holders to work as shift engineers in all types of refrigeration plants, including ice facility refrigeration plants, and will establish an Ice Facility Operator Class Certificate specifically for shift engineers in ice facility refrigeration plants.

These amendments aim to expand the licensing options for refrigeration plant operators, thereby increasing the availability of qualified personnel, equipped with the necessary skills and training, to uphold the safety standards required for refrigeration plant operations.
