A Food Security Dialogue to Structure a Prize Competition

How can we advance food security solutions for northern and remote communities to ensure healthy food for all? 

Reliable access to healthy food in remote communities is a challenge that affects Manitoba, Canada and other jurisdictions around the world. As a province and country, we have made positive strides, but more needs to be done to advance food security, independence and the cultural needs of remote, mainly Indigenous communities.

You have been invited to this Dialogue to assist with planning a Challenge Prize Competition. Challenge Prize Competitions have a proven capacity to uncover, unleash and attract ideas to help solve challenges. It is an approach that complements other work underway.

The Challenge Scoping Paper describes the challenge of food security in remote communities and asks for input on the elements that need to be considered to design and structure a prize competition. The competition’s objective will be to find new solutions that can be immediately piloted or deployed in specific partner communities in Manitoba.

The engagement is now closed, however we are still accepting input from anyone who didn't have the opportunity to reply.
