Early Learning and Child Care Workforce Training Review

Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning is working in partnership with MNP on an Early Learning and Child Care Workforce Competencies and Certification Review project in response to the changing landscape of early learning and child care in Manitoba. As part of this project, we are seeking input from a variety of stakeholders who have a vested interest in improving the existing certification and competencies framework for Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) and Child Care Assistants, creating attractive career pathways for ECEs and Child Care Assistants, and supporting the delivery of high-quality early learning and child care.

The main goal of this project is to refine the competencies and certification framework to adapt to the evolving educational landscape. This includes promoting inclusivity and integrating Indigenous perspectives. ECE III competencies have remained largely unchanged since the mid-1990s, and this will ensure they meet contemporary Early Learning and Child Care educational standards.

Purpose

The intent of the survey is to gather information from a variety of stakeholders on current experiences related to the current knowledge, skills, and experience of early learning and child care professionals, and insight into potential opportunities to further elevate the profession to meet the evolving demands on the sector.

Your input is important! Please complete this survey individually and based on your own personal experience. It is important that we obtain a true sense of your impressions about the early learning and child care sector.

The survey will be open from March 27th, 2024 and deadline for completion of the survey is April 15th, 2024.

If you have any questions regarding the survey, please contact EngageMB@gov.mb.ca.
