Brandon Kneeling City Bus

Since moving to Brandon I always had a car and had never used Brandon public transit. But when I was recovering from major surgery with a newborn baby I was in a lot of pain, I was exhausted, I couldn't lift anything, and I couldn't drive while my incision healed.

I remember being really nervous the first time I had to use public transit to take my newborn to an appointment (hello postpartum anxiety!). I worried I would have to ask for help from strangers to get the stroller onto the bus.

When the bus pulled up the driver lowered the front of the bus and made sure I could safely ease the stroller inside. They helped me without making me feel like a nuisance--they treated accessibility accommodations like a normal fact of life.

I was so grateful for the driver's help ♡
