The proposed Wildfires Regulation prescribes the safety requirements for industrial operations and other activities that are carried out within the burning permit areas. The regulation will ensure that safety requirements for the burning permit areas are in place upon the coming into force of The Wildfires Amendment Act on April 1, 2024, as the requirements which are currently included as conditions of work permits, will be eliminated.
This regulatory project also includes the updating of officer appointments under The Wildfires Act.
