PTH 3 - Functional Design Study

PTH 3 is a major road connecting the City of Winnipeg (McGillivray Boulevard) to PTH 100 and destinations south of PTH 100. Increasing traffic volumes, due in part to commercial and industrial development along this corridor, mean that twinning of PTH 3 may be needed in the short to medium term. Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure is in the process of developing a functional design and access management plan for the twinning project. The functional design for this twinning project is informed by both technical studies and a public engagement process.

Public open house meetings were held in May and November 2023 and an EngageMB survey was conducted in February 2024 for this project. In addition to feedback from the public, meetings were held with the local governments and stakeholders to understand issues and priorities. Through this engagement process, the department developed an improved road alignment and intersection options for PTH 3 between PTH 100 and the City of Winnipeg limits at Brady Road.

Based on technical evaluation and public response, a preferred design has been developed. The presentation below shows the preferred short and long-term design for the twinning of PTH 3, including an access management plan and proposed signalized intersections. Manitoba Transportation Infrastructure would appreciate your further feedback and wants to hear from you.

The survey will close January 17, 2025.
