The Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA) contains provisions focused on compliance and enforcement. A regulation is required in order for the compliance and enforcement powers granted by the AMA to be implemented.
The proposed regulation will provide the necessary framework for government to begin enforcing legislative and regulatory accessibility requirements by issuing orders to remedy contraventions and administrative penalties to entities that demonstrate willful non-compliance.
Feedback is being sought on the content of the proposed regulation, and the potential publication of information about non-compliant entities by the Manitoba government.
