The timber outlet structure at Falcon Lake Dam has reached the end of its service life and is in need of replacement. In addition, concerns about regulation of Falcon Lake water levels and maintaining access to the south shore have been expressed by area residents.
August 2018 Open House:
An open house was held in August 2018 to get public feedback on water level regulation of Falcon lake. The previous water level range was set at 1065.75' to 1066.25'. Based in part on feedback from this open house a new range of 1065.5' to 1066.25' has been established for Falcon Lake.
We are now asking the public for feedback on three potential options to replace the timber structure. The goal is to balance the interests of stakeholders on the lake while providing a sustainable, environmentally responsible solution, which will be respectful of the park space and cottager’s interests.
The open house will be held at the CanadInns Destination Centre Transcona (826 Regent Ave. Winnipeg MB) on January 22, 2020 from 4-8pm and is a come and go event. Storyboards used at the event are below.
Please note: The diagrams are available in alternate format upon request, please contact Ben.VanderHooft@gov.mb.ca for additional information.
