Who keeps a logbook now?

• Intra-provincial carriers required to maintain paper HOS logbooks.
• All carriers and drivers operating vehicles over 4500kg, unless exempted.

Who is exempted?

Exemptions under federal and provincial regulations include:

• Vehicles defined as limited use - less than 6800kg (MB).
• Farm trucks (MB).
• 2 & 3 axle vehicles driven by producer to move products of farm, forest, & water (CA).
• Emergency vehicles.
• Vehicles providing relief in the case of an emergency.
• Vehicles repairing electric power or natural gas outages.
