Who keeps a logbook now?
- Intra-provincial carriers required to maintain paper HOS logbooks.
- All carriers and drivers operating vehicles over 4500kg, unless exempted.
Who is exempted?
Exemptions under federal and provincial regulations include:
- Vehicles defined as limited use - less than 6800kg (MB).
- Farm trucks (MB).
- 2 & 3 axle vehicles driven by producer to move products of farm, forest, & water (CA).
- Emergency vehicles.
- Vehicles providing relief in the case of an emergency.
- Vehicles repairing electric power or natural gas outages.
