Hospitality Sector Customer Registry Regulation

The regulation, which implements provisions in The Hospitality Sector Customer Registry Act (HSCRA), addresses human trafficking by requiring hotels and other temporary accommodations to enter certain kinds of customer information in guest registries and to maintain registries, and requiring customers to enter the appropriate identification in a registry. The regulation also sets out procedures for police access to customer registries, through a court order or an urgent demand without a warrant, to support human trafficking investigations, and procedures for annual reporting on urgent demand requests.
