Manitoba Trails Strategy - What We Heard Report (FR)

Help us create the Manitoba Trails Strategy and shape how we develop, maintain and support recreational trails across Manitoba.

The Manitoba Trails Strategy will guide the development and maintenance of a provincial trail network for recreational activities such as hiking, biking, snowmobiling and off-road vehicle riding. Trails may include motorized and non-motorized trails, as well as water routes, in both backcountry and frontcountry areas. Feedback from stakeholders, partner groups and the public will help to shape the strategy.

We want to better understand:

  • how you use trails in Manitoba
  • trail amenities that are important to you
  • barriers that impact your trail use
  • how to get people more involved with recreational trails
  • ideas for trail building and maintenance

We Want Your Feedback
Whether you currently use trails in Manitoba or would like to in the future, we would like to hear from you.

  • Complete the online survey by January 22, 2021.
  • Share an idea about how to improve Manitoba’s network of trails.

This information is available in an alternate format upon request, please contact MBTrails@gov.mb.ca .

  • Trails Strategy Webinar

Manitoba Conservation and Climate held a webinar on January 13, 2021 to discuss the Manitoba Trails Strategy and what it will include. Details were provided regarding the scope and goals of the strategy, who is involved and what trails-related issues and opportunities are being considered. Information was also provided on how the public can provide input and help to shape the strategy.

A recording of the webinar is now available for viewing online. Thank you to those who listened to the webinar and those who submitted questions for consideration during the presentation.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

We would like to thank organizations, businesses and individuals interested in the development, use or promotion of trails in Manitoba for participating in the survey for trail groups and builders.

The Manitoba Trails Strategy will identify goals, objectives and actions intended to:

    • Establish a network of recreational trails across Manitoba, including associated tourism amenities.
    • Identify supports and best practices for recreational trail development, maintenance and rehabilitation.
    • Reduce regulatory barriers to trail development.

Your input on establishing a network of recreation trails in Manitoba and views on trail development, maintenance and sustainability is key to developing the Manitoba Trails Strategy. A survey welcoming feedback from the public open until January 22, 2021.
